Just 40 km. from the large administrative center
of Bourgas it is located along a crescent-shaped bay facing east.
The shore is sandy and sloping. The beach is 8 km. long, between
30 and 50 m wide occasionally gently rising into dunes and covered
with fine golden sand.
The sea is calm, without a morning or evening tide. The water
is warm, limpid and rich in minerals easily absorbed through
the
skin and inhaled with every breath of tangy air.
The climate is continental with four distinctive seasons. Summer
is the longest season, with 1700 hours of sunshine from May through
October. The sun here rises early and sets late. The average
monthly temperatures of the air in July and August reach
27-29
°Ñ , and of the water – 25-26 °Ñ. The air is fresh, abounding
in ozone and the fresh sea breeze makes the days pleasant
and
the
nights cool. Rare plant species grow amidst the beautiful parks
and dunes, including 16 protected by the law.
